Custom Order: MacBook Air Messenger Bag

This week I received a exciting custom order for a well padded, messenger bag style, MacBook Air case. My customer requested an “urban, yet earthy style” but gave me broad creative license, which is always nice! He requested a fully adjustable and removable strap, and a slim shape.

So, here it is…

The front flap is made from water resistant black canvas and features forest green corduroy and black leather!

The outside front panel (backside identical) made from the same black canvas and green corduroy.

The interior features a custom (and hella padded) compartment sized for a 13″ MacBook Air. The fit is snug and perfect. The rest of the interior offers enough room for power cord/adapter, a few journals or novels, phone, keys. etc. There is also a large pocket in the larger compartment for extra organization.

Each panel of the bag (front, back, bottom, and interior divider) is well padded to protect the MacBook.

I pulled these buckles from a retired rock climbing harness (fellow climbers will recognize the Black Diamond logo). They are super reliable, and will not let that strap slip even a little bit, so this bag is great for hiking, bike travel, and the like. The strap is 100% adjustable and can even be removed for packing into a larger bag or suitcase.

Custom Order: XL Laptop Messenger Bag

I received this custom order from a man in Decatur, Ga. He’s got a rather large laptop and needs a durable, padded messenger bag to transsport it, along with the power adapter, mouse, external drives, etc. The bag had to be big, sturdy, padded, and vegan, with tons of custom sized pockets.

I made the exterior from two types of canvas. The unbleached off-white color canvas is cotton based, and the tan color fabric is ‘sunbrella’ canvas. Both types are water resistant and super durable. The strap is also made from canvas, but also features nylon webbing recovered from a retired ‘Black Diamond’ rock climbing harness. The strap is adjustable at both ends and completely removable. The buckles were also recovered from the same BD harness.

The order came from a retired army sergeant, so I trimmed some of the interior with desert camo.

I also included a handle for easy on, off, and carrying.

The interior features a padded laptop compartment for a 17″ x 12″ x 2″ laptop, along with custom compartments for power adapter, mouse, external drives, etc.

Custom Order: Navy Blue Messenger Bag

A co-worker of mine at Vertical Ventures Rock Climbing Gym, Tampa FL, ordered this custom messenger bag. It’s made from super-durable Sunbrella fabric (marine grade canvas) that we picked up from sail shops here in the Tampa Bay area.

If features a large front pocket on the flap, specifically to fit guide books for rock climbing. The sides also have loops for clipping climbing chalk, shoes, water bottle, etc.

The interior also has large split pockets.

This bag was sold for $55.

Custom Order: Cherokee Sacred Colors Messenger

This custom-ordered messenger bag is made from the sacred colors of the Cherokee Nation.

The front flap features the colors arranged into the Cherokee Nation sacred directional symbol.

We made this bag from super-durable Sunbrella fabric (marine grade canvas). It also features a fully adjustable shoulder strap with a parachute clip (for easy on-off).

The interior features a large split pocket made from brown corduroy.

This bag sold in Land o’ Lakes, FL for $55.
